Saguenay - Lac-Saint-Jean
Throngs of tourists visit the Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean region (02) every year, drawn to Lake Saint-Jean, a veritable inland sea, and the Saguenay Fjord, the only such geographical feature in North America that can be safely navigated by boat. Region 02 is bordered by the Côte-Nord and Charlevoix (Capitale-Nationale) regions and covers an area measuring 100 000 km2 (40 000 sq. mi.). In addition to hunting and fishing, several recreational activities and sports may be enjoyed in the mountains, on the plateaus or on the plains of the region. A wonderful outdoor playground only a hop, skip and jump from the city!
