Anticosti Island, in the Gulf of St.Lawrence, is 222 km long and 56 km wide (138 mi. x 35 mi.). Anticosti SEPAQ, managed by a government agency, is an outfitting camp that holds exclusive rights and is responsible for a territory covering 4,575 km² (1,766 sq. mi.). Whether on the american or european plan, guests will have an enjoyable stay, ensured by experienced staff and excellent facilities that include 36 lodges and cabins. At Anticosti SEPAQ, hunters with a guide have had an average success rate of 1.7 deer per person over the last 25 years (one of the highest in the world). The limit is two deer per person. Bows and arrows, crossbows, black-powder weapons and conventional firearms are permitted. Some sections are reserved strictly for bow and crossbow hunters.
